Domaine Drouhin Oregon: When France Came Calling
After David Lett beat Robert Drouhin's wines in 1979, Drouhin flew to Oregon to investigate. What he found convinced him to establish Domaine Drouhin Oregon in 1987 - the ultimate validation of Oregon terroir. Véronique Drouhin-Boss now makes wines that blur the line between Burgundy and the New World.

The Dundee Hills: Where Oregon Began
The Dundee Hills is where David Lett planted in 1965, where Drouhin landed in 1987, and where the red volcanic Jory soil creates Oregon's most famous wines. This sub-AVA holds more pioneering estates per square mile than anywhere else in the New World.

Eyrie Vineyards: Papa Pinot's Rebellion
In 1965, David Lett loaded a U-Haul with vine cuttings and drove from California to Oregon's Willamette Valley. UC Davis professors told him he was insane - Oregon was 'too cold, too wet.' He planted anyway. In 1979, his 1975 Pinot Noir finished second (by 0.2 points) against France's best. When Drouhin organized a rematch, Eyrie finished second again. Drouhin bought land in Oregon.
