Walk near the swimming pool area in the morning (if visitor access permits). Look for any historical plaques about Van der Stel. If the pool area is staff-only, visit the museum in the Manor House. Van der Stel's legacy is everywhere -- portraits, documents, the 1685 founding date on the buildings. The ghost is just the living memory of obsession.
