The cellar is literally inside medieval fortifications.

Find the Contucci entrance on Via del Teatro near Piazza Grande. Walk through the doorway—you're entering 14th-century city walls. The barrels are stored in chambers carved from the fortifications. The stone walls keep perfect temperature year-round.

The tasting counter is in the cellar. They'll pour 3-4 wines without charge—you're expected to buy a bottle (€15-40). Taste the Rosso di Montepulciano (young, fresh) alongside the Vino Nobile (aged, complex) to understand the difference. Ask about their Riserva if you want something special.
