   Find the Shop

   history Free

   Walk to 116 Boulevard Haussmann (Metro: Saint-Augustin). The shop is hard to miss - look for the antique façade that has barely changed since 1850. Marcel Proust lived nearby and was a regular customer. The interior has original tiles, wooden counters, and bottles stacked floor to ceiling. Open Monday-Saturday 10am-7:30pm.

   🔄 BACKUP: If closed, nearby Lavinia (3 Boulevard de la Madeleine) is a modern alternative with a tasting bar.

   Ask for Grower Champagne

   Ask sommelier Marc Sibard (20+ years at the shop) for "Champagne de vigneron" (grower champagne). These are small producers who grow their own grapes and make their own wine - unlike the big houses who buy grapes. Look for "RM" (Récoltant Manipulant) on labels. Caves Augé stocks over 1,000 wine references.

   Join a Pavement Tasting

   Every other Saturday, Caves Augé hosts free pavement tastings where you can meet winemakers. Stand on the Boulevard Haussmann sidewalk sipping champagne from producers you've never heard of. Check their schedule at cavesauge.com.

   🔄 BACKUP: If no tasting, buy a bottle and drink it at nearby Parc Monceau (10 min walk).
