   THE REALITY: Domaine Leroy in Vosne-Romanée does NOT offer public tastings. Visits are by invitation for serious collectors and trade. ATTEMPT ANYWAY: Email the domaine directly (find contact via domaine-leroy.com). Explain your pilgrimage, your wine background, and your sincere interest. Be respectful and patient. ALTERNATIVE: Maison Leroy in Auxey-Duresses is their négociant arm - more accessible for visits. Contact them at maison-leroy.com. The wines are still excellent (though not the same as domaine wines).

   WHERE TO TRY: 1) LE COMPTOIR DES TONTONS (22 Rue du Faubourg Madeleine, Beaune) - beloved local wine bar, sometimes has Leroy by the glass at €100+. 2) LES CAVES MADELEINE (8 Rue du Faubourg Madeleine) - serious cellar, ask what Leroy they have open. 3) LOISEAU DES VIGNES (1 Rue d'Argent) - high-end wine bar with rotating selections. 4) MA CUISINE (Passage Sainte-Hélène) - restaurant with strong Burgundy list.

   🎯 HOW: Call ahead and ask specifically: 'Do you have any Domaine Leroy open by the glass?' Be willing to pay €150-300 for a village-level glass. THE TASTING: If you get a glass, focus on the concentration - Leroy wines are dense, layered, almost chewy. The fruit is darker than typical Burgundy. The tannins are firm but refined. The finish lasts minutes.
