   Find La Tâche Stone Marker

   The stone identifying DRC's 6-hectare monopole.

   Walk south from the Romanée-Conti cross for ~500m. La Tâche is on your right (west) side of Route des Grands Crus. Look for the DRC stone marker in the vineyard. It's less photographed than RC but equally legendary.

   La Tâche has steeper slopes than Romanée-Conti.

   Stand where you can see both La Tâche and Romanée-Conti. Notice La Tâche's steeper incline - this creates better drainage and more complex terroir expression. Burgundy insiders often prefer La Tâche for this reason.

   Walk to Les Gaudichots

   The Premier Cru that was absorbed into La Tâche Grand Cru.

   Continue south past La Tâche's main section. Les Gaudichots (now part of La Tâche) was reclassified Grand Cru in 1936. The soil color shifts from red to more yellow limestone here - taste the difference in La Tâche's complexity.
