Museo de Cadiz - Phoenician Sarcophagi
The museum's crown jewels are two 5th-century BC Phoenician anthropoid sarcophagi. The male was discovered in 1887 at the Necropolis of Punta de la Vaca, prompting creation of this museum. Almost a century later in 1980, the female 'Lady of Cadiz' was found - directly beneath the former director's house.
