   Enter the Arcade Bar (walk-ins after 18:00, no reservation needed). Ask for a Costa d'Amalfi DOC white or Greco di Tufo. €12-18/glass. The bar is less expensive than the restaurant and has the same view from the terrace. The frescoes above you are original 18th-century work.

   Ask the staff about the terraced gardens below the pool. A path winds through lemon trees and bougainvillea. Walk it before sunset. The gardens are 11 centuries old - the same layout the medieval nobles designed. Few visitors explore beyond the main terrace.
