They own prime parcels in Les Chétillons (same vineyard Salon uses) and make single-vineyard blanc de blancs that rival prestige cuvées at 1/4 the price. Email ahead or call +33 3 26 57 50 32 for tastings €25-40. Ask for "Les Chétillons" bottling specifically and compare to generic Grand Cru - the terroir difference is education in a glass.

   Walk to Les Chétillons Vineyard (Salon's Source)

   Salon Champagne - one of the most expensive in the world (€500+) - sources 100% from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, with Les Chétillons as the premier climat. From the village church, walk uphill (east) toward the slope where Les Chétillons is marked. Stand among vines worth €2M+/hectare on the same pure chalk that makes this champagne age for decades.

   Taste 100% Chardonnay Champagne

   "Blanc de Blancs" means 100% Chardonnay, and Le Mesnil makes the most mineral, age-worthy examples at any grower tasting room. At Pierre Péters or any grower, ask specifically for "pur Mesnil" or "Les Chétillons." Taste alongside their other villages if offered and notice how Mesnil wines are tighter, more mineral, longer. This is terroir, not technique.

   Compare Grower Prices to Prestige Cuvées

   Pierre Péters "Les Chétillons" costs €45-60 while Salon from the same terroir costs €500+ and Krug Clos du Mesnil €800+. At Pierre Péters boutique or any grower cellar door, buy a bottle of grower blanc de blancs (€25-50) and calculate: that's 3-4 bottles vs one prestige cuvée from the same village, same Grand Cru, same chalk.
