   Stand at the former site of 'Fernando Garbal Jewish store and wine cellar' - a medieval Jewish wine merchant's premises from 1491, just one year before the expulsion (Plaza del Salvador, Toledo). Take the high-speed AVE train from Madrid Atocha (33 min). Walk from the station or take bus 5. The plaza is in the old Jewish quarter.

   Enter the Oldest Synagogue

   Enter Europe's oldest surviving synagogue (built 1200, converted 1391) at Santa María la Blanca (Calle de los Reyes Católicos). The seizure and conversion ironically preserved it. Admission €3. The octagonal architecture with horseshoe arches reflects the Mudéjar style where Jewish, Muslim, and Christian craftsmanship merged.
