Find the champagne bar, request Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle if available, position yourself at VIP terrace for skijoring race, and toast as horses drag humans on skis across ice. It's been happening since 1907, and it's still completely absurd.

   Between races, the 1,800m Lake St. Moritz transforms from racetrack into pedestrian plaza. You can walk ON the ice where thoroughbreds just raced, touch the packed snow barriers, inspect hoof marks, feel the surreal transition from racetrack to winter wonderland. After any race finishes, walk onto the track with any White Turf ticket. Find hoof prints in the packed snow/ice, kneel down, touch the ice surface with your bare hand — it's 1+ meters thick and strong enough for horses, tents, 30,000 people. Stand at the finish line and turn 360 degrees: mountains surround you, tent city, champagne bars, all ON A FROZEN LAKE.

   🔄 BACKUP: If track is closed between races, walk to lake edge and touch the ice barrier. You're still interacting with the absurdity.

   At 1,800m altitude in February, the sun hits the Engadin Valley at a LOW angle. Around 15:30, the entire frozen Lake St. Moritz glows amber-gold — the ice, the snow, the horses, the champagne glasses all turn the color of honey. This light drew Segantini, Giacometti's father, and countless artists to St. Moritz in the 1800s before skiing even existed. Plan to be on the lake at 15:30 for final races, find a spot on the ice with open view west (toward setting sun), and watch how the light transforms everything — the same golden hour painters obsessed over 150 years ago.
