   Cable car runs every 20 minutes, CHF 69.20 roundtrip adults (Winter: Dec 20, 2025 - Apr 6, 2026; Summer: June 27 - Oct 18, 2026). First-morning riders get the sun terrace to themselves before crowds arrive at 11:00 - first cable car departs 9:00 AM from Corviglia (take funicular from St. Moritz Dorf to Corviglia first). Arrive at Corviglia funicular base by 8:45 AM, take first funicular up, board first Piz Nair cable car at 9:00, exit at 3,057m summit, walk to sun terrace, find a south-facing spot with full Engadin Valley view, claim it.

   🔄 BACKUP: If you miss first cable car, aim for 9:20 or 9:40 before kitchen opens at 11:00. After 11:00, terrace fills fast.

Order a glass of Graubünden Pinot Noir at Restaurant Piz Nair 10 000 Feet (warm kitchen 11:00 AM - 3:45 PM), ask the server: "Can you point out where the Rhine Valley is?" Look north-northwest, find the valley cutting through mountains - those tiny green patches are vineyards. You're drinking wine made DOWN THERE while standing UP HERE.

   Find the viewing platform and identify Italian peaks visible from Swiss soil.

   The Engadin Valley opens south toward Italy, and from Piz Nair you can see into Valtellina (Italian wine region) and spot Italian peaks - this viewing spot is why St. Moritz became famous in the 1800s when British tourists came for these panoramas before skiing was invented. Walk to the 360-degree viewing platform (separate from restaurant terrace, marked on summit), face south, look for information panels showing peak names. Find which mountains are in Italy (Piz Bernina at 4,049m straddles the border). Ask yourself: "Would I have traveled here in 1850 just for this view?" The answer is yes.

   🔄 BACKUP: If weather blocks Italian peaks, the valley view alone is worth it. The Engadin Valley's geometry - glacially carved U-shape - is textbook geography.
