During Hahnenkamm Race Week (January 23-25, 2026), training runs Monday-Thursday (Jan 19-22) on the actual Streif course let you watch World Cup racers training at 140 km/h, going airborne at the Mausefalle, crossing the finish line 5 meters from you. Go to the finish line area — public can watch from free standing areas (arrive by 10:00 to secure barrier spots). The energy is electric: 45,000+ spectators, cowbells clanging, Europop pulsing. After training runs end (~13:00-14:00), sponsor tents open at the finish plaza. Perrier-Jouët (official champagne) and Austrian producers (Leo Hillinger, South Tyrol wines) offer FREE tastings — no VIP ticket required. Sample Austrian Sekt, Grüner Veltliner, Lagrein with locals, tourists, racers' families all drinking together.
🔄 BACKUP: If you miss Hahnenkamm Race Week, some wine shops (WEINHERZ) offer free tastings on weekends during ski season. Or attend Kitzbühel Spring Wine Festival (March) for free producer tastings.
