At Cantina Tramin cooperative in Termeno/Tramin village (110km from Cortina via Great Dolomite Road), book a tasting tour (€20-30). The cooperative represents local growers producing world-class Gewürztraminer at fair prices. Call ahead (+39 0471 860126) or book via cantinatramin.it. Request the 'Origin Story' tour that explains why this specific microclimate creates the grape's signature lychee, rose petal, and spice character.

   Walk the Gewürztraminer Weinweg Trail

   Walk 30-60 minutes through terraced vineyards with interpretive panels explaining Gewürztraminer's 1000-year history. The vines climb dramatic slopes under Dolomite peaks. Start from Cantina Tramin or the village center on the Gewürztraminer Weinweg (wine path). In autumn (Sept-Oct), you'll see harvest happening. Ask at the cantina for the trail map. Best in morning light when the Dolomites glow. Touch the vines - these are the original terroirs that gave the grape its name.

   🔄 BACKUP: If weather is bad, skip the walk and do an extended tasting inside. Ask to compare 3-4 different Gewürztraminer styles (dry, off-dry, late harvest).

   Order Tyrolean cuisine (spätzle, speck, dumplings) with a 'vertical' tasting of Gewürztraminer from different vintages or producers. Compare young vs. aged, dry vs. off-dry. Ask which vintage the locals prefer. At Gasthof Dorfnerhof or similar traditional Tyrolean gasthaus in Termeno, look for 'Gasthaus' or 'Gasthof' signs in the village.
