   Walk 10 minutes to Henri Maire winery in central Arbois. They produce a 'Cuvée Pasteur' in his honor. Ask for the Pasteur tasting flight (€15-20) and learn how his discoveries changed their winemaking. The connection isn't just marketing - the Maire family knew Pasteur personally. If Henri Maire is crowded, Domaine Rolet and Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois both offer excellent alternatives with the same local pride in their scientific neighbor.

   Have lunch at a restaurant in Arbois old town and order Jura wines with Comté cheese - the canonical pairing. Ask your server about Pasteur's connection to the town. Arbois was the first French AOC (1936) for wine - partly because of Pasteur's fame. Try the local Trousseau red or Poulsard rosé with charcuterie.
